Position: Head Coach
Bio: (2009 – 2015) Deans started his coaching career at Lakeview Jr/Sr High in Campti, Louisiana. Deans was the CECP coach for the boys’ basketball team before enlisting in the United States Active Duty Army. Deans served as a Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic for six years.
(2015 – 2017) Deans transferred from the Active Duty Army to the United States Army Reserves. At the same time, Deans became a Math Teacher at Natchitoches Junior High School, as well as assistant track and field coach, assistant football coach, utility bus driver, and head boys’ basketball coach.
(2017 – 2018) Deans became an assistant coach at Southwood High School. At Southwood, Deans led the Freshman to the City Runner-Up. In addition, Deans assisted the Varsity Team to the District Runner-Up and to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs.
(2018 – 2019) Deans became the Head Coach at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy. At Green Oaks, Deans led the boys’ basketball team to host their first home playoff game in the last decade. Deans led the Giants’ to an overall record of 21-10, district runner-up, and to the second round of the state playoffs before coming to the Swamp and joining the Gator Family.
