Keith Greene is a native of Hampton, Virginia. With a parent in the military, Greene moved to the Philippines and lived there for six years before coming to Bossier City, Louisiana where he graduated from Parkway High School. Since his father retired here in Louisiana, this is where he has lived the longest. He is a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City where he has different roles in the church. Coach Greene played basketball at Parkway High School, went to Bossier Parish Community College, and then University of Texas at Arlington.
Keith received a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from University of Texas at Arlington and then received his Alternative Certification for teaching from Northwestern State University. He is currently working to complete his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with plans one day to become an Assistant Principal and or a Principal. He is currently teaching Health / Physical Education.
Coach Greene began coaching boys’ basketball at Captain Shreve High School as an assistant coach under Todd Martinez in 2003. From 2003 to 2010, Greene also coached an AAU/Select team during the summer called Louisiana Select which has a few players playing in the NBA right now. In 2011, Greene was given the opportunity to become the Head Coach of Captain Shreve Lady Gator Basketball Program. Greene feels and believes that basketball will have an impact of someone’s life because it helps develop lifelong lessons or skills that individuals can use throughout their life. He says, “You have to keep God first, stay humble and hungry, trust and enjoy the process, and work hard at everything you do.”
Coach Greene is married to Janella and has a daughter Kiaya(12) and son Kaeden (6).
